Joe Staton is a British actor, writer, and producer based in New York City. He is a company member of the Ensemble Shakespeare Company, a New York–based classical ensemble led by practitioners trained by renowned voice and Shakespeare coach Patsy Rodenburg, and dedicated to actor-driven productions rooted in her technique. With the company, he has appeared in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo and Juliet, and is scheduled to appear in Julius Caesar in New York this summer.

Joe is also the co-founder and co-artistic director of RiffRaff NYC, a theatre and film company dedicated to supporting immigrant artists and sharing international stories. Through RiffRaff NYC, he has produced and performed in multiple New York productions and theatrical events celebrating diverse voices and storytelling.

Recent theatre credits include Pride and Prejudice, Murder on the Orient Express, and Macbeth at Cumberland Theatre, The Woman in Black at Bluff City Theatre, and The Importance of Being Earnest at Classic Theatre of Maryland. His New York credits include The Seagull, The Rainmaker, As You Like It, and A Christmas Carol. He also appeared in Romeo and Juliet with The Curtain alongside Aria Shahghasemi and Andrew Sellon.

On screen, Joe appeared in Supreme Tweeter, written by and starring Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones, The Iron Lady, The Theory of Everything), and in The Lightworker, directed by Paul McNeilly, which won 21 awards on the film festival circuit.

In addition to acting, Joe recently wrote Snazzy, a new play inspired by the true story behind the global face-paint brand Snazaroo, founded by his parents. The production will be featured in the New York Theatre Festival this summer, with plans for future development in the UK.

Joe trained at The Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York and the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London.
